Children’s Residential Registered Manager

Al Barr Care is a family-oriented company committed to providing high-quality care for children and young people. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Children’s Residential Registered Manager to join our therapeutic home. Al Barr care’s journey began with fostering in 2004, and after a decade of fostering, we recognized gaps in the care system where the wellbeing of children and young people wasn’t always prioritized. We are dedicated to making a positive change, providing a homely environment where children feel safe, loved, and nurtured.

Position Overview:

As the Children’s Residential Registered Manager, you will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of a children’s residential home, ensuring that the highest quality of care is provided. Your leadership will empower your team to maintain our ethos and meet our children’s diverse needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Children’s Residential home.
  • Ensure that the highest quality of care is provided for our young residents.
  • Manage home budgets, recruitment, and staffing levels.
  • Be responsible for the marketing of the home and liaise with commissioners and the Local Authority.
  • Ensure the home complies with current legislation.
  • Lead the home through the Ofsted inspection processes.

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience working with Ofsted and maintaining high standards of care.
  • Background in working with children who have Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
  • Proven ability to manage challenging environments with a compassionate approach.
  • Experience in commissioning and leadership.
  • Relevant management qualifications.
  • Either hold or be working towards a Level 5 in Leadership & Management.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: Up to £55,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • 4+ years in children’s residential care (preferred), including at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role (essential).

Additional Requirements:

  • Driving Licence (preferred).
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (preferred).

Referral Program:
We also have an active staff referral scheme. You will receive £500 for every successful candidate you refer who completes their probationary period.
